Napier Port- Woodchip Export Facility

Cortex, recently completed a Woodchip / Fertilizer bulk export facility at the Port of Napier , New Zealand. This facility incorporates innovative solutions to the cost/space/time contstraints placed on the project, by making the bulk of the equipment fully portable.

The facility is primarily designed to load woodchips into vessels ranging up to Panamax size. However, it has also been constructed to handle fertilizer with minimal modification. Woodchips are exported to ship via a mobile shiploader which is fed be a mobile wharf conveyor. A fixed conveyor pulls chips from the stockpile.

Feature Summary

  • Maximum loading rate 1,000t/h (2,200 m3/h)
  • Conveyors are manouvreable by 20 tonne forklift
  • 'jet slinger' on telescopic chute fills corners
